About Us

Director Alexander James Ward has over 20 years’ experience in every field of property, from kitchen and bathroom design, building materials, planning, project management, damage restoration, buildings insurance claims management, property management, and maintenance.

Alexander’s heritage comes from History.
His Grandfather Joseph Ward was a Master craftsman of his era. Joseph Ward started as a Grounds worker and was contracted to work for Frank Pontin working with Pontins holiday camps and building the fabric of our Summer holidays as we know it Nationally.

Joseph continued to build throughout the South of England on thousands of projects including large projects:

• Anne Court

• Spring lane and Leacock close in Swanmore where his brother Jon Was Born.

His Father Anthony Ward was a property developer and his mother Valerie Ward who is an architect designed Rooksbury House in Swanmore where he went to school.

They then went onto develop and build many houses where Alexander lived including Moorcroft & Sunset Cottage in Swanmore.

Alexander went onto work as a Sales representative for Howdens Joinery at age 23 after university working in Petersfield, Havant and Chichester before being head hunted to Sales Executive for Jewson Chichester. After a successful year he was promoted to Manager of Jewson Westhampnett Chichester where he rebuilt a failing builders merchant into a profitable business and then was promoted to a larger branch at Jewson Havant running three 20 tonne HGV lorries, tool hire, national house builder support, before buying a franchise from Aspray to create AJW Property management Ltd T/A Aspray Salisbury in Buildings Insurance Claims handling and damage restoration.

Aspray Salisbury covered Winchester and Salisbury and its surrounding areas and helps bring commercial and residential property owners back to their pre-loss condition following an insured incident like fire, flood, escape of water or impact damage. His business deals with every aspect of the claim from start to finish including dealing with insurers or their appointed representatives, helping landlords recover loss of rent, housing tenants and home owners in alternative accommodation while the claim is resolved and restoring their property back to its pre-loss condition on a like for like basis.

In 2020 AJW Building Ltd was incorporated to meet the needs of his clients who needed non – insurance related building work done and supports its property management and letting agents contacts through the Aspray business. We specialise in flipping properties after a tenant has left, meeting budget requirements for the task at hand and using the appropriate contractor to meet requirements. We handle large scale HMO’s, kitchen and bathroom design, high- and low-end decoration, all flooring options, brickwork and specialist stone work, roofing, plumbing and heating, specialist water damage, hazardous cleaning and property cleaning, plumbing and heating, biological solutions and electrical works and are fully trained to be able to meet your requirements.

Alexander now resides in his family home in the beautiful village south of the historic city of Winchester called Swanmore with his wife Emily of 13 years and his three children. He is a devoted father, avid charity supporter and fundraiser and supports his community through voluntarily teaching martial arts to children of the community to protect them. He practices martial arts as well as health and fitness, enjoys music and track days at Goodwood race track as well as family and social gatherings.​
